Senior Scientist, Gatorade Sports Science Institute
Kris Osterberg is a physiology scientist with interests in hydration, substrate
oxidation and metabolism. As a senior scientist at the GSSI, Kris conducts research
related to hydration as well as fluid and electrolyte balance.
Prior to GSSI, Kris worked in Nutrition and Metabolic Fitness Laboratory at Colorado State University, where she was responsible for coordinating research into the effects of physical activity and diet on resting metabolic rate and energy balance. She was also a Research Dietitian for the University of Colorado where she was involved with investigating the effects of aging and physical activity on energy expenditure.
Kris has authored and co-authored several publications in scientific journals.
A dedicated competitor, Kris was a member of the women’s basketball team at Colorado State University, where she received her BS in Exercise and Sport Science and her MS in Human Nutrition.
In her spare time, Kris enjoys running, cycling, mountain biking, and backpacking.
