Nick Suffredin

Scientist, Gatorade Sports Science Institute

Nick Suffredin is an Associate Scientist at GSSI, where his primary responsibility is to support the GSSI physiology research program. This requires him to assist with laboratory-based research projects focused on product efficacy and innovation and to stay up to date on the emerging science in sports nutrition as it relates to physiological and performance responses.

Nick started at GSSI on an internship, helping to assess the physiological and metabolic responses to fluid and nutrient intake before, during, and after exercise. He is currently preparing to earn his M.S. in Applied Exercise Physiology with concentrations in thermoregulation and sports nutrition.

Originally from Bartlett, IL, Nick received his undergraduate degree in Movement Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he participated in collegiate athletics playing men’s varsity soccer his first two years.

In his leisure time, Nick is an avid runner and also plays soccer.
