My son and I tried this drink packet. He threw it away before I could get a good picture. To me it had a sweet watermelon flavor. My son didn’t really like the flavor. He said it was too sweet. This was part of a promotional deal.

I really wanted to love this, especially since the watermelon scent when you open it is amazing and the taste itself is actually decent. However, it definitely fell short in a few key areas. The biggest issue for me was how long it took to mix, the powder took forever to dissolve, no matter how much I shook or stirred it. Even after waiting, it still had that unmistakable chalky powder texture and aftertaste that clear protein isn't supposed to have. On top of that, the color was pretty off-putting; instead of a nice pink or red, it mixed into an unappealing pale yellow. Overall, it’s drinkable and gets the job done if you need the protein, but the texture and appearance definitely drag it down.

If you are looking for an easy way to get some extra protein and like a fruity drink then this is your product. Very easy to mix up and take on the go. I used a Shaker cup and mixed with 14oz of water and shook it really well. The powder dissolved very easily and there was no messy clean up. As far as taste it was a very smooth fruity watermelon taste (I got watermelon flavor) and for me personally it was a little on the sweet side as to why I gave it 3 stars. I added alil more water to it and that helped but if you like a sweet taste then mix with the recommended water. Overall a very good protein drink.

I really wanted to like this. I like the concept. Unfortunately, the powder didn't dissolve easily and left small chunks in my water when I shook it thoroughly multiple times. The foam remained, and the taste was a little weird to me. I just did not like it. I ended up throwing it away.

First the positives. It mixes really well and it doesn’t add a lot to the consistency of the water so it’s easy to drink. However the flavor is a bit lacking, think like you have a piece of watermelon gum in your mouth and then drink some water, that’s about it. Also it makes me wonder what’s in these supplements to make 20g of protein this transparent and not noticeable? It can’t be natural. Overall in a pinch I’d use it again but not on a daily basis.

I was really excited to try the new protein propel powder. I have had the plastic bottle propel in the past and thought it was decent. Protein powder can be quite heavy and thick and hard to mix with just water sometimes. After mixing it had a lot of foam rise to the top which was super great. Getting past it and focusing on taste, I had the watermelon flavor and hop early I could barely taste anything. Very similar to their bottle electrolyte drinks. It wasn’t terrible but I was not blown away by the taste. Didn’t have much aftertaste either which was a plus. I do feel the electrolyte and 20g of protein is there. It’s not a game changer but it’s a nice option to have if you want a change from typical whey protein.

Propel Watermelon Clear Protein I was excited to try Propel’s Watermelon Clear Protein, especially since I’m always looking for convenient ways to get more protein in. Each packet contains 90 calories and 20g of whey protein. It does contain milk ingredients and stevia leaf extract. Unfortunately, the watermelon flavor just wasn’t a favorite for me. If I had to compare it to something, I’d say it tastes like what I imagine a sugar-free watermelon Jolly Rancher would taste like. I only mixed it with 12 oz of water because I didn’t want to dilute the flavor, but I still found it somewhat bland and not particularly enjoyable. The pros: Mixes easily and well Not heavy or chalky Convenient individual packets Easy to take on the go without having to pre-measure powder No worrying about powder spilling all over your bag The cons: The watermelon flavor isn't very pleasing to me A little bland, even with only 12 oz of water I've tried other clear protein drinks that I personally prefer the taste of That said, I don't think I'm ready to give up on Propel Clear Protein completely. It may just be the watermelon flavor that doesn't work for me, and I'd definitely be willing to try another flavor before making a final judgment on the brand. Overall: 3/5 stars. The convenience, protein content, and texture are all great — I just need a flavor I enjoy more.
